1. Opportunity: The American study abroad students in Rome do not have an club to go to when they spend their nights out. The changes in the environment are globalization and the increasing number of study abroad students coming to Italy every year. The market is 18-22 year old American study abroad students who currently satisfy their needs by attending the small, over crowded, dirty American bars to "pre-game" without having a place to attend afterwards. They aren't that loyal to their satisfaction because they change it up every week depending on what they think will be better. This opportunity is huge because there isn't really a set place to attend after going to the bars that are just for American students. There are signs up at bars that say that only study abroad students are allowed, but no clubs that offer the same exclusivity. The window of opportunity is open until someone fulfills the request.
2. Innovation: The club in Rome would be strictly for American students; only those with student IDs will be allowed to enter. We will feature American artists and DJs who play American music. We will have American drink specials. The whole experience will be American. We will charge an entrance fee of 10 euros that will include a complementary drink of choice.
3. Customer's would be willing to switch to the club because A. every semester new students come and convincing them to attend an American club over an Italian club would be easy, and B. there is currently no other American club in Rome. There aren't any real competitors because other clubs are majority Italian. The weaknesses would be over the summer when there are fewer students abroad. Prices matter because the idea is American college student oriented. The club would need to have great bartenders who know how to make drinks, as well as good DJs daily.
1. The unfair advantage would be that I, an American, will be running the show. Rather than an Italian who thinks they know the needs of study abroad students, I am currently in the situation and am a prospect customer who's need is unmet.
2. The next opportunity I want to tackle is an all American diner featuring classic favorites such as burgers, milkshakes, pancakes, and desserts.
Hey Adi, great job on this post. I think that you did an amazing job of clarifying your whole idea. I can tell that your product has a lot of potential and can be used by many people. I am glad you were able to make the post very clear on your plan because it is easy for people to understand your plans and ideas. Great job Adi.
