Idea Napkin 1
1. You; My talents are cooking and photography and I enjoy traveling. My aspirations are to open a cool bar concept in New York. I think opening an American club in Rome would line up with my aspirations of opening a bar in the city. This would be a great start/ addition to my business venture.
2. Offering; I would be offering a fine selection of American drinks, music, and company. The venue would have the vibe of an American club and would be big enough, but not too big, to fit all American study abroad students.
3. Who; American study abroad students who are looking for an authentic, fun, night. 18-22 year old students who are okay to spend a little bit more money because they are abroad, like going out, and miss the way clubs are from home.
4. Why; It's valuable because the idea is coming from an American with experience rather than an Italian entrepreneur trying to make money. The idea is genuine. People will pay money because the experience is worth it when comparing it to an Italian club experience.
5. What sets me apart is that I come from New York and have been around countries and have experienced their nightlife and am able to compare it to American nightlife and see what it lacks. I am also currently a study abroad student and understand the struggles of going out.
I think these elements all combine to create a unique characteristic set. These key things will set me apart from others who want to partake in opening a club in Rome geared towards Americans. I think my background with traveling, studying abroad, and coming from a location where nightlife is so prevalent is beneficial to opening a club in Rome for Americans. These will help me create and bring my ideas to life.

Adi,
ReplyDeleteYour business idea is very interesting and different! However, I'm curious as to how big of a market you are directing this toward. Are there enough 18-22 year old study abroad students in New York to keep a business like this afloat in one of the most expensive cities? Is it exclusive towards this market or will it be open to everyone? I wasn't aware that study abroad students struggle with going out, so this is an enlightening idea.
Hey Adi, I really like all of your ideas and I think you have good direction in all of your plans. I think that this would be something that could be very popular among study abroad students. The only thing I am worried about that you did not address is the fact that there will be locals who will want to go into the bar to experience "America" and could ruin the experience. This is just something small to think about, but I really think you are on the right track!
ReplyDeleteHey Adi. Overall, I think your idea definitely has some potential. I completely understand the concept, but I don't have enough experience abroad to provide insight on the club scences elsewhere, so I'm not sure what they lack. That's why I think your experience is very valuable to this project. The only concern I have is the size of your target market, so I think you might want to consider also catering to others outside of young American students. Great job.
